Privacy policy
The short version: Eggl collects nothing about you, and neither does this website. The long version is below, because “we value your privacy” is worth nothing without the detail.

What information does Eggl collect about me?
Nothing — not about you, and not about how you use your Mac. Everything you give Eggl through features like timers stays on your Mac. It is never transmitted, never sold, and never made available to anyone but you.
What about crash reports?
If Eggl crashes and you have turned on Share analytics information from your Mac with developers in macOS, anonymised crash data may be shared with Eggl’s developer, Alex Lunnon. Apple explains that setting, and how to turn it on or off, in its Mac User Guide.
That data is used only to debug problems in Eggl. It is never shared with or sold to third parties, and it does not identify you, your location, or anything personal about you.
What does the Mac App Store tell you?
Apple gives every developer sales reports for their apps. For Eggl those reports are simply counts of copies downloaded. They contain no personally identifying information. Eggl and its developer have no idea who you are or what you have been doing — and rather like it that way.
Does Eggl track me?
No. Eggl is not a web app and knows nothing about your internet activity. It is not designed to collect or retain any information about your location, your usage or your activity, and it contains no third-party analytics or advertising frameworks.
Does Eggl sell my information?
No. Since Eggl collects and retains none of your personal data, there is nothing to sell. Eggl shows you no advertisements and has no information about you to offer an advertiser.
What about this website?
eggl.io is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers, fonts or scripts — everything it loads comes from eggl.io itself.
The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard server request data such as IP address and user agent in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. That is Vercel’s infrastructure logging rather than anything Eggl collects, stores or has access to.
Links out to the Mac App Store and to GitHub take you to services with their own privacy policies, which govern what happens once you arrive.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Eggl’s approach — collect nothing — is not something we plan to revisit.
